The 2024 WGI Kansas City Regional will be held on February 24-25, 2024 at Blue Springs High School. After the number of entrants at last year’s regional, WGI has asked us to move this to a 2 day regional. This will allow more entrants, additional judges and the possibility of critique. We encourage all units to register for this regional.
At the recent WGI Board meeting, a proposal passed changing the weighting for the Regional A class from 70/130 to 60/140 giving more weight to achievement. As MCCGA uses WGI scoring, this will be applicable to our Novice and Regional A classes.
Directors are encouraged to read the penalties section of the WGI rulebooks each year.
Critiques will be held on the 1st and 3rd weekend in each region during the 2024 season. Contests having critique will be noted on the registration form
Beginning in the 2024 season, ticket prices at all regular season shows will be $9.00 for those ages 5 and above. 4 and under will be admitted free. This will help our show hosts with rising costs to hold such festivals.
In 2024, we will celebrate our 30th anniversary. We will be planning events throughout the course of the season to celebrate.
