Promoted Week 2 from Scholastic C to Scholastic B following the Mascoutah and Republic Festivals
The Kickapoo High School Gold Winter Guard 2016 production is entitled, “Take Me Home”, and is performed to the music of Jess Glynne. The production reflects the inner strength needed to overcome the vulnerability of being in a relationship that ends. We find compassion in family and friends when dealing with this type of personal pain. Our journey… is in finding that compassion after vulnerability… the journey brings us back “home” where love always exists.
Kickapoo Gold is the “JV” winter guard within the Kickapoo Color Guard program. The Kickapoo Gold guard was a gold medalist in the Regional A class at the 2015 MCCGA Circuit Championships; as well as, a finalist in the regional A class (placing 2nd) at the WGI St. Louis Regional. The 17 member team is made up of members from the guard and band program: 2 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 11 freshmen.
The unit is directed by Sherri Peterson with assistance from Haley Adams, Kristen Arata and Catherine House. The Kickapoo Gold winter guard will be performing this weekend in the Scholastic B class at the Ozark festival. Next week the team will compete in the Scholastic A class at the WGI Kansas City Regional. On behalf of the instructional staff, we would like to thank all of the guard parents and band boosters for their continued support of our program; and to the members of the 2016 Kickapoo Gold winter guard…. we are so proud of you!
