The Edwardsville High School’s Winter Guard 2015 production is titled, “Before Goodbye,” and is performed to the music of Train’s This Ain’t Goodbye. The units 16 members explore the difficult feeling of saying goodbye to their friends and loved ones, but knowing that they will see each other again. Bus stop benches help to coordinate the theme of coming and going, and add some interesting challenges for the staff and performers. Of the 16 members performing, 3 have never participated in color guard before, and one of those is actually a foreign exchange student from Sweden. Additionally of the 13 remaining, only 7 are winter guard veterans, the rest have only marched fall color guard before.
The unit is directed by Ashten Perigo with assistance from Keith Baker, Hayley Barker, Jayson Johnson, and William Nagorski. The Edwardsville High School winter guard will debut their first Scholastic B performance of the 2015 season at Francis Howell North.
