COLOR GUARD SEEDING/PERFORMANCE ORDER

Please review the information below regarding Championships performance order. This is also found in the rulebook located on the website.

The order of appearance at MCCGA Color Guard Circuit Championships will be determined by the most recent score received by a unit at eithera MCCGA festival or WGI Regional. This score will be “progressed” by adding 1.5 points per week, throughout the course of the regular season.

The highest score obtained that weekend will be used for the seeding process. If the finals score is lower than the preliminary score, the preliminary score will be the unit’s seed score. If the unit does not advance to finals, their preliminary score will be used for the seeding process.

If rounds are utilized, the highest scoring unit will perform in the final performing round with the next seeded unit placed in the previous performing round. Once a unit has been seeded into the first performing round of the class, the process repeats back at the final performing round and works its way back forward in time until all units are placed in a round.

Once rounds are set, the top half and bottom half of each round will be randomized to determine order of performance. If rounds are not use, the top half and bottom half of the class will be randomized if there are more than 8 units. If less than 8 units, the entire class will be randomized. If there are an uneven number of units in a class/round, the “middle” unit will be drawn with the top half of the class/round.

In order to uphold the integrity of our seeding process, please remember that we cannot accommodate requests to perform at a specific time or in a specific round. The only request that can be made is to perform first in the class. Any requests of this nature must be made in writing to mccgapresident@yahoo.com no later than March 10, 2023. Those with multiple units should performing at different sites should plan for possible conflicts with performance times. Once the schedule is published, there will be no changes.
