MCCGA Scholarship Application Information
I. Application
- Only one scholarship application to be accepted per unit
- Applicants must be an active performing member of a unit that will
attend the current year's MCCGA Championships
- Applicants must be in their Senior year of High school or currently
attending college.
- All applications must be typed
- Applicants must include high school or college transcripts and an
explanation of the point system the school uses (i.e. 4 point scale)
- Applicants must turn in 2 letters of recommendation written be
adults who are in no way related to the applicant
- Applicants may represent either a MCCGA winter guard or percussion
line
- All applications must be postmarked on or before February 27,
2011
- MCCGA will offer scholarships in the amount of $500. The number of
scholarships to be awarded will be determined by the annual budget
- The scholarship committee may choose to interview the scholarship
finalists
- Transcripts must be provided
II. Criteria
- Grade Point Average
- Number of years involved in performance activities
- Neatness & thoroughness of application materials
- Future plans in performance and pageantry activities
III. Rubric
The scholarship committee will utilize a rubric to score the scholarship
candidates based on the above stated criteria and to assist in the decision
process.
