3/10/10 Wentzville Holt Winter Guard

The Wentzville Holt Winter Guard is celebrating their first season in many years. Of the ten girls in the unit, eight are new to guard this year, and seven are freshmen. Their show is entitled “The Art of Me.” The music, performed by the Vitamin String Quartet, is an instrumental version of the Switchfoot song, “Dare You to Move.” The girls work every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30. Their coaches are John Miller and Kelly Kenny. After their first 2 competitions they rank 2nd in state for their division. Their show features a lot of dancing and elaborate work.

The Wentzville Holt Color Guard has a history of doing well in fall competitions as well. During the fall of ’09 the guard accumulated many trophies. Needless to say, John Miller was quite proud especially of their first place win at Warrensburg Festival of Champions in the indoor guard competition. The guard is looking forward to growing in size and moving up in future ranks.
